Overview
Thyroid cancer is cancer that's found in the thyroid gland. It's quite rare in the UK.
Symptoms
Painless lump in neck; hoarse voice; difficulty swallowing/breathing.
Causes
Unknown. Risks: radiation exposure; family history; thyroid conditions.
Treatment
Surgery (thyroidectomy); Radioactive iodine; Hormone therapy.
Prevention
Avoid radiation exposure; Healthy weight.

See GP if: you have a neck lump or persistent hoarseness.
